What is Shitty Karaoke?
Shitty Karaoke is a cheeky twist on your favorite karaoke classics! We’ve taken popular songs and given them a potty-humor makeover. It’s all about embracing our inner child, having a laugh, and not taking life (or bathroom humor) too seriously.
How did Shitty Karaoke start?
It all began when I found out we were going to be placed next to the protopodites at Burning Man. I wanted to make the most of it so I created a porto playlist. We ended up get placed somewhere else but I didn’t want my work to be in vein. So, as we do one night at every burn, we set up a mobile DJ booth and our whole camp trolls around to different art projects and plays fun dance music. When nature calls, we hit up the portos and put on the one-of-a-kind playlist. That’s when the idea of creating parodies of popular kareoke songs themed around my favorite dinner topic emerged. It’s daybue was at Burning Man, 2024 and it was a hit! It’s now been to a few different events and is quickly gaining popularity.
as a quirky personal project that turned into a splash hit among our friends. After setting up a pop-up tent next to some porta-potties at a public event, we realized people loved our silly parodies just as much as we did!
